No climbing, no skiing, no riding…just Slaving

Sad but true, real life catches up once in a while and you’re sidelined from the fun. Instead of camping with friends or hiking with our little dudes, we are demolishing our garage this 4th of July weekend with the intention of remodeling it. Crusher. Day 1 (today) was hot and hard. Our house was built in ’62, so the lumber has had five decades to dry and harden–which makes the demo a splintery kick in the nuts.

Emptied of most of our gear, but still standing

We took off most of the roof, the garage door, pulled all the interior plywood and skimpy insulation, and hacked out a sucker tree behind the structure. Tomorrow, a couple walls and we’ll excavate with a rented mini-backhoe. What fun. Feel free to drop by lend a hand…ahhhhh! Most likely I’m shut down until Monday…then hopefully a climb or something this coming week. Have a super 4th, friends.
