Over at Ibis Cycles they’ve developed a love-hate thing with carbon.
Chuck Ibis and his crack crew of two-wheeled freaks LOVE the way carbon rides. They also say they love carbon in diamonds and pencils. Well, duh! I like carbon in chocolate and skis, too. Just sayin’.
On the flip side, the mythic NorCal Ibis posse HATES the carbon present in our atmosphere as carbon dioxide. I guess they’re against melting glaciers, shattered ice caps, random weather meltdowns, vanishing polar bears, and Bangladesh going under water. Geez, demanding citizens of our global village, aren’t ya?!
To this end, Ibis Cycles now ships all their bikes and packages via the UPS “Carbon Neutral” Program. For every box, envelope, and package sent by Ibis World HQ, the company purchases carbon offsets. The Carbon Neutral Company and Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS) verify the credits and legitimize the whole arrangement.
