2011 Townie Totals–1400 km!

My trusty Globe “Live”…fast, cool, and super green.

My trusty CatEye Urban Wireless computer has tallied the numbers, folks, and 2011 was a PR in terms of bike-commuting: 1400km (868 miles) ridden, with just under 200 pounds CO2 saved, and nearly 18,000 calories burned.

I snagged my Globe “Live 3” at University Bikes, a year-and-a-half ago. I knew were going to have twins, so I wanted a townie with 700c wheels and disc brakes–for those burner descents with the little men in the Chariot. It’s been a total blast and my buddies at CatEye hooked me up with a cool computer that calculates how much carbon you spare the atmosphere with every k you ride. This allows me to flaunt my eco-righteousness at Yogalates classes and what not.

My Urban Wireless and mega-bright CatEye front light–essentials for commuting.

Thanks to CatEye, UBikes, and the City of Boulder for maintaining sweet bike paths and lanes–here’s to an even bigger year of bike-commuting in 2012!
