Trail Mix July 2012

July will be greeting us with some blazing hot temperatures . . . . how better to welcome in this scorcher of a summer month than with a set of equally hot tunes! Our July Trail Mix does just that, with brand new tracks from some of the Southeast’s best artists.

We kick off this month’s set with “Something Else,” a track from Pick, the new release from Keller Williams & The Travelin’ McCourys.

We are also excited to feature a tune from Chris Pandolfi, banjo maestro extraordinaire from The Infamous Stringdusters. “Defenders,” recorded in Chris’s home studio, blends Pandolfi’s smooth banjo licks with some fuzzed out Banjocaster – a little bit banjo, a little bit electric guitar, that Pandolfi built himself.

Also featured are tracks from Sarah Siskind, Drivin’ N Cryin’, Head For The Hills, The Corduroy Road, Knoxville’s Erick Baker and Mic Harrison & The High Score, up and coming newgrassers MilkDrive, Stevie Jackson of Belle & Sebastian, honky tonk hero Billy Joe Shaver, and If Birds Could Fly, one of Southwest Virginia’s brightest new bands.

Take a listen. Many times. Spread the word. Share with your friends. And make sure to seek out – and buy – records from these great artists. Help support these artists who so graciously share their music with Trail Mix.
