Video: Only the Essential

For anyone gearing up to tackle the Pacific Crest Trail this spring, or for all you who wish you were, let Only the Essential be your new inspiration for life on the go. Coming soon from sponsor Granite Gear and producer Colin Arisman, this film following two thru-hikers offers an up-close and personal look into the demanding journey from the Mexican to Canadian borders.

Arisman and his woods companion, Casey Gannon, completed the PCT during the summer of 2013 and produced their own video documentary of their travels. The film, available now for purchase and later this month for full screenings, brings home all the footsteps, laughs, struggles, and satisfactions that mark this ultimate West coast challenge.

“Our goal,” was to capture the brutal, yet breathtaking, ebb and flow of thru-hiking,” says Arisman. “The film serves as a window to experience the Pacific Crest Trail and the value of simplifying our modern lives by carrying ‘only the essentials’ we needed to live on trail.”

Just in time for upcoming shows in Oregon, Washington, and Vermont, take a look at the captivating trailer that shot these hikers into the limelight with over 60,000 views in less than two days and join the crowd to witness all their hard work hit the big screen!
