Photo Gallery: The Tantalus Hut of Squamish, B.C.

We set off for the wilds of British Columbia this Fall to experience some hiking and high-alpine climbing in the Tantalus Range outside of Squamish, B.C. Those Vancouverites have it pretty sweet, with this kind of wilderness only an hour from the doorstep. Take a look at what a five-minute helicopter ride with Altus Mountain Guides can get you. This terrain is so steep and rugged, and in the winter gets so much snow, that the use of choppers is much more common than you find in the States. Thanks to North American climbing shoe leader LaSportiva and the latest from Gore-Tex, we were well outfitted for this trip to Lake Lovely Waters…
