Have summer plans to catch a stellar sunset on the Flatirons Vista Trail or gaze into the diamond-like glitter (beneath the Diamond) of Chasm Lake? Be sure to stop into the closest Fjällräven brick-and-mortar store beforehand. In an effort to be your “local trailhead,” both the Boulder store (1048 Pearl St., Boulder) and its Denver counterpart (1510 Platte St., Denver), not to mention others across the U.S., will reward adventurers who tick off a curated collection of trails in their area through August 2, 2026. “Our biggest goal is to get people out in nature,” says Danielle Cree, manager at the Boulder Fjällräven store, adding that customers get “some really cool rewards for doing so.”

Indeed, Trail Challenge participants walk (hike?) away with benefits aplenty–even after their first outing. The concept is simple. Choose one of the 10 hikes on your local Fjällräven store’s list, log your adventure on the AllTrails app or snap a photo by the trailhead sign, and bring proof of your adventure into the store for 15 percent off your purchase. After five completed hikes, you’ll earn the official 2026 Trail Challenge patch along with 30 percent off one in-store transaction and one entry into a sweepstakes for tickets to next summer’s Fjällräven Classic USA, an annual, multi-day backpacking extravaganza hosted by the brand. Complete all 10 hikes, and you’ll receive 40 percent off an in-store transaction plus two additional Classic sweepstakes entries.
The deals are great–and it turns out, the natural beauty on the hikes themselves isn’t too shabby either. Boulderites can start with a shorter outing like the three-mile Enchanted Mesa, Bluebell Spur, and Chautauqua Loop at the Colorado Chautauqua. Or, venture out on an all-day trek like Isabelle Glacier via Pawnee Pass Trail in the Indian Peaks Wilderness, which gains 1,646 feet of elevation in 8.9 miles. Since the Boulder store “adopted” the 8.1-mile Walker Ranch Loop, caring for it with basic maintenance, you’ll find that rugged favorite on their list too.
The Denver store’s employees have selected their own list of trails, including short (3.7 miles) yet challenging Mt. Morrison and the moderate yet high-mileage Twin Lakes via Mt. Elbert Trailhead route.
Each store’s line-up also includes what the team dubs a “basecamp loop” that starts and ends at the retailer’s front door. “That’s a good way to do a quick loop and get involved right away,” says Cree, who’s witnessed multiple people walk into her store, learn about the Challenge, set out on the basecamp hike, and return to take advantage of the discount that day.
Boulder locals might be surprised by the absence of old stand-bys like Mount Sanitas and the First and Second Flatirons Loop on the list. That was intentional. “We were thoughtful about the trail selection not to have too much impact,” Cree says. Her team also kept Boulder’s famously athletic population in mind. “It was important to challenge a range of our customers.”

Regardless of how many trails customers complete–or the trail’s level of difficulty–any participant who spends time outside comes out a winner. The Trail Challenge serves to nudge us toward that ultimate goal. “At Fjällräven, we believe nature should feel approachable and welcoming to everyone,” says Rachel Leuthauser, Fjällräven senior manager, communications and community. “By highlighting trails that our local store teams know and love, we’re encouraging people to discover the outdoors in their own communities and build a deeper connection with their public lands.”
