Postcards from the Weekend: Exploring Green River

Green River offers the perfect outdoor escape for anyone looking to spend a few days adventuring in the wild. The canyon walls are a stunning mix of browns and reds, and the lack of cell service makes you feel like you are truly in the wilderness. A canoe or rafting trip down Green River is perfect for those without much whitewater experience because there are multi-day stretches without any rapids. As we paddled our canoes down the river, herons would swoop lazily overhead under the hot Utah sun. In this photo, we took a break from our canoes to explore one of the Green River’s tributary streams. We walked (and then swam) up the stream until we found a place to climb out and do a bit of hiking on the canyon trails.
