Mountain Khakis: Satisfying a Traveler’s Bag, a Worker’s Closet and an Adventurer’s Trail

On a Fall Sunday morning, I slip on the  Oxbow dress which has a roomy cut and invites me to relax and enjoy the sunshine while sippin’ a cup of Joe. A dress made for all body types that also gives me an excuse to wear my cowgirl boots! I also often find myself wearing the Anytime Sleeveless Knit  Dress which is more fitted and has slimming lines.  It is simple to pair with a sweater or jacket. Both dresses can easily be dressed up or down simply by changing your shoes.

This Autumn I am taking advantage of an all around clothing company for day wear called Mountain Khakis. Whether on the rock, hiking or going out with friends- Mountain Khakis offers a full line of multi-functional clothing.

I first became aware of Mountain Khakis when a dirt bag friend won a pair of pants Cottonwood Cords  at a climbing competition, relieved with the perfect timing as his one-and-only pants from Goodwill had had the biscuit a little too soon. His new pants looked great and what really made an impression was how well they lasted after being worn almost constantly.  After more than a year of wearing them they still withstood the beating of a full-time climber. He favored them because they had just the right amount of stretch to be flexible for climbing, tough material and sturdy stitching along with a cool design. Through the years he started having to patch them a bit so for an even sturdier pant style suggested are the Alpine Pant  which offer thicker material ideal for off-widths and bushwhacking, however, do not have the same stretch and flexibility as the cords. These come in men and women’s styles.

After learning about the quality Mountain Khak’s has to offer, it was exciting to see their line of women’s clothing  offering cute and sophisticated styles with a good fit.

For a solid, versatile pair of shorts to use for hiking, climbing or day wear, I would suggest the Anytime Cargo Short. You can choose between two different lengths (4.5 or 9.5 inch inseam). The 4.5 inch inseam is great for me because I prefer a shorter length but they are also long enough to wear with a harness.

For a classy jacket, the Americana Jacket  is a good choice. From the herringbone lining to the gathers at the shoulders along with a high collar, this jacket has a fashionable flair. It offers 2 handwarmer and 4 cargo pockets perfect for holding keys, passport, ect. I have worn this jacket to work, my little brother’s graduation ceremony worn with a dress and high heels and taken it travelling- now that is versatility! You can choose from three colors: Granite, Moss and Retro Khaki.

Versatility. Quality. Sophistication.  Mountain Khakis offers a clothing line that is suitable for wearing to work, playing hard outside and even to special occasions. Clothing that can easily be dressed up or down which makes it extra valuable to people who travel or prefer quality vs. quantity. It is built to last through life’s experiences. Mountain Khakis satisfies the needs of a traveler’s bag, a worker’s closet and an adventurer’s trail.
