Los Padres: A film that captures the spirit of the West

Ever wonder what it’s like to be a cowboy? The film Los Padres, presented by YETI, came out on Nov. 18, so now you don’t have to.

The film features Graham Goodfield, owner of Los Padres Outfitters, who has spent a lifetime dedicated to packing mules, working with horses and sharing his love for the backcountry with others. Goodfield loved the outdoors, so he looked for ways to make a living while doing what he loved. Los Padres Outfitters was the answer.

Throughout the film, viewers are taken back to the beginning of Los Padres Outfitters and are introduced to Tony Alvis, the man who started it all. Tony founded the company on values he believes are fundamental to living in the West.

After a tragic accident, Goodfield took over the Los Padres and maintained Tony’s wild spirit infused in the company. Through their backcountry trips, Los Padres offers people an escape and a chance to be reminded of what really matters.

“We’ve never had a bad trip. People love it, people tell us it’s life changing,” said Goodfield.

The film Los Padres offers a small but worthwhile glimpse into what it’s like working with the spirit of the American West and it’s definitely worth the watch.
