Colorado Calling!

Landing the Outdoor Retailer trade show is a big win for the state of Colorado. The three seasonal shows in 2018 will bring an expected 85,000 visitors and $110 million of annual revenue into the state. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. When Denver won the bid to host the massive gathering of outdoor retailers, manufacturers, athletes, non profits, artists and other innovators, the state cemented its spot at the center of the outdoor conversation in the United States.

“The outdoor industry in Colorado is incredibly strong thanks to the hard work, dedication and passion of the people that support it,” says Outdoor Retailer show director Marisa Nicholson. “We hope people stay, explore, support the local businesses, learn about how the government and industry can work together and be inspired by what’s happening here.”

The “Big Show” will take place from January 25-28 at the Colorado Convention Center, and will put the $887 billion outdoor recreation economy on display along with the industry’s steadfast commitment to showcasing the value, and protecting the resources that fuel the outdoor community as a whole.

Since our inception in 2008, Elevation Outdoors has been an outspoken voice and a platform for the outdoor industry and the state of Colorado. Since our colorful home-state will take on the hosting duties of OR for the first time, we thought it might just be the perfect time to celebrate Colorado and the long list of businesses and people that make this state such a huge asset to the outdoor community.

We’re welcoming Outdoor Retailer, and like-minded folks from across the nation and the world, to our in home in style with a big ol’ party at the Ogden Theater on Friday, January 26 featuring Colorado fan favorites, The Motet, on stage. The event will benefit Big City Mountaineers — a key Colorado non profit helping to make the outdoors accessible for everyone.

For the big bash, we’re teaming up with these awesome and influential Colorado companies: Upslope Brewing Company, Nite Ize, Osprey Packs, OtterBox, Boa Technologies, Haibike, Lems Shoes, Native Eyewear, Copper Mountain Resort, Grand Junction Economic Partnership, Chocolove, Backpacker’s Pantry, Deuter, Ascent 360 and Lewis, Roca, Rothgerber and Christie Law Firm.

“It’s an opportunity for us to show off our state and highlight all the incredible mountain-made brands that are doing business right here in Colorado,” says Jan Greenspan of Nite Ize.

While this is an invite-only party for Outdoor Retailer attendees and friends of our partners, we’ll be giving away tickets to a few of our readers to be our guests! Keep an eye out on elevationoutdoors.com and our social media feeds for ways to win tickets to this exclusive event.
