BIG SALE AND ATTRACTIONS AT SKI AND SNOWBOARD EXPO

It’s nearly here! The 23nd annual Colorado Ski and Snowboard Expo presented by Shomp MINI returns to the Colorado Convention Center for three busy days–Nov. 7-9. Skiers and riders can snag huge discounts ranging from 40-75 percent off skis, snowboards, clothing and accessories. Hours are 1pm to 10 pm on Friday, 10 am to 8 pm on Saturday, and 10 am to 6 pm on Sunday.

New attractions this year include a Nordic Village Interactive Zone featuring an intro to cross-country skiing, ski jumping and snowshoeing—including an actual launch simulator. The 2015 Alpine World Championships pavilion will capture the crowd and long lines so individuals can experience the interactive ski machine developed by SkyTech with its 26-foot screen. “Wannabe” racers can simulate the adrenalin-producing thrill of running an actual Beaver Creek race course on the most advanced simulator on the planet. Copper Mountain’s Camp Woodward has a mini-ramp skate park for kids and adults. The Rocky Mountain Beer Garden features free entertainment by guitarist Jim Salestrom and friends.

The kid-centric Mountain Activity Center, presented by Steamboat Resort, is anchored by the Slackline arena and will include performances by Slackline pros and a demo area for novices. The fast-paced Eliteam Training Center has a timed obstacle course that measures basic fitness and flexibility skills and FitLight station to test reaction time. First-time skiers can slide down the artificial surface of Winter Park Kid’s Slope while Burton’s Riglet Park offers little tykes an easy gliding introduction to snowboarding.  For spectators, The Skyriders! put on a high-flying show during their double trampoline exhibition.
