Winter is just around the corner which means it times to celebrate the beginning of another Colorado ski season with Bentgate’s 7th Annual Ski Season Kickoff Party.
Bentgate is a sporting goods store located in the heart of Golden and has become the go-to backcountry ski and climbing shop for Denverites and beyond. They are passionate and committed to their customers, and the Bentgate team is knowledgeable, passionate, and ready to celebrate the impending snow.
Events begin at 5pm and continue until 8pm.

1.) Stoke Fest
With over 20 of the top vendors showcasing this seasons ski and splitboard gear, now is the chance to check out the latest and greatest. Beer will be on hand from Oskar Blues, along with Food trucks from Basic Kneads Wood Fired Pizza, The Beef King, and Ice Cream from Banomano. There will also be live music.
2.) Raffle and Silent Auction
This year Bentgate has over $10,000 worth of gear and swag donated by top brands for the raffle, silent auction and giveaways. There is a very strong chance of walking away with some excellent gear. Prizes include several pairs of this season’s top skis, splitboards, boots, and avalanche beacons just to name a few.
3.) Good Cause
All funds raised from the event through raffle ticket sales, silent auction and beer sales will be donated to Friends of the Colorado Avalanche Information Center and the American Mountaineering Museum, both 501(c)(3) not for profits. The Colorado Avalanche Information Center is crucial in avalanche forecasting and education for the State. The American Mountaineering Museum seeks to preserve the history and spirit of mountaineering, to educate visitors on mountain culture and the spirit of mountaineering as well as inspire in the modern climber a greater appreciation for climbing history.
4.) Film and the 10th Mountain Division
Icelantic skis will be premiering their film “The Mountain Infantry”, a film about the 10th Mountain Division and the story of Icelantic athletes reliving their footsteps through the training grounds of Colorado. It also covers the story of how the members of the 10th returned from the war and started the ski industry here in the US. Also, Members from the 10th Mountain historical society will be on hand in full World War 2 gear to talk all things 10th. Lastly, the American Mountaineering Museum will be showcasing authentic 10th Mountain division equipment.
5.) Backcountry Games
What party would be complete without some fun games. Try your hand at the backcountry obstacle course, timed beacon search, blindfolded shovel assembly and more. Prizes to be won at each game.
