Top Seven Reasons to Go to the Divide Music Festival

The Divide Music festival will take place this year from July 22-24 in the heart of Winter Park, Colorado. With 27 different artists playing over the course of three days, this festival is sure to have an act that even the pickiest listener will enjoy. The Divide has much more to offer, though, than just jammin’ to some good tunes. The added lure of views, good brews, and camping under the crisp mountain sky makes this festival a truly unique Colorado experience that you won’t be able to have anywhere else. Read on to see for yourself why you should be getting your festival passes and packing up your coolers ASAP.

1. The Music

Okay, this one’s a given. Featuring headliner bands like the Fray, Kid Cudi, Passion Pit, and Blondie, the Divide Music Fest is chock full of A-list bands from all genres. Plus, 16 up-and-coming bands will be playing over the course of the three days. Be sure to check out Colorado local favorites AMZY, One Flew West, and Kayla Marque.

2. The Adventures

Winter Park is a haven for outdoor adventures. Located in the heart of Colorado’s front range, Winter Park offers world-class mountain biking, hundreds of miles of hiking, and ample opportunities for fly fishing. There will be a shuttle from the festival grounds to different trailheads, which means even if you can’t find a ride to explore the local trails, you can make it to a mountain. The Divide Music Fest will also be offering a range of free guided activities like mountain biking and yoga. There will also be guided hikes with the breweries who are at the festival, with special Q&A sessions and some potential free swag.

3. The Camping

There’s no better way to finish off a day listening to your favorite bands than looking up at the Colorado stars from your tent. Festival-goers can car or RV camp just outside the festival grounds and will have access to basic amenities. About four people can fit on one car camping spot, so bring your friends, your coolers, and your sleeping bags, for the perfect music festival experience.

4. The Beer

The Divide has teamed up with some of the best breweries in Colorado to provide refreshments to thirsty festival-goers all weekend. Odell, Ska, and Great Divide breweries are sponsoring the festival, so you can drink up knowing that you’re helping to support local Colorado businesses.

5. The Location

You just can’t beat the Divide Music Festival’s combination of surreal mountain views and incredibly easy to access to outdoor adventures. Winter Park is just over an hour away from Denver, so the pristine mountain views you’ve been craving are just miles away. No car? No problem. You can fly into Denver International Airport, take the train to Union Station, hop on a different train, and get dropped off less than four minutes from the festival grounds in time to make all the music acts. It’s that easy.

6. The Charity

You can feel even better about going to the Divide Music Festival knowing that part of your ticket cost will benefit the Grand Foundation, an organization based in Grand County, Colorado. This Grand Foundation works on promoting the arts and culture, giving away educational scholarships, helping to build a sustainable community, and on other various health and human services projects.

7. The First Year

If you’re trying to up your hipster creds, the Divide Music Festival is a must-do. This is the debut year for the fest, and in twenty years when ticket prices will have soared and celebrities descend on the festival grounds, you’ll definitely want to be able to tell all your friends and future grandkids that you were there right at the beginning.
