Time to Boogie Down and Bring Back Summer

The rain is subsiding, finally, and the sun is reappearing, time to listen to some excellent tunes and sip on some sweet suds at Upslope Brewery this weekend. For the second-straight-year the Upslope Get Down Music Festival is offering Boulderites the opportunity so celebrate the impending arrival of summer in style.

Starting this Saturday at 1pm, eight bands will be rocking out on two stages at Flatiron Park next to Upslope’s main brewery. Local celebrity—and bike nut—Ryan Van Duzer will act as emcee for the day keeping the mood light as the musical acts build towards the evenings headliner. Taylor Fredrick’s Funk Circus will take the stage at 9pm and pump out jams until long after the sun has set in the west.

Admission is free and families are welcome. The “Kids Get Down Zone” will have a climbing wall, hula hoop making station (String Cheese Incident fans take note), sidewalk chalk, and numerous games to keep the kiddos busy.

No concert would be complete without some beer and Upslope will be pouring their signature core beers (Pale Ale, IPA, Brown Ale, and Craft Lager) along with their Limited Release Belgian Style Pale Ale and Thai Style White IPA for five bucks a beer.

Don’t worry about the grub as numerous food trucks will be on hand offering their finest. Blackbelly, Comida, Moe’s Original BBQ, and The Rolling Tomato are but a few of the names committed.

If you are looking to upgrade your day, tough. A limited amount of VIP tickets are now sold out. For $55, those lucky VIP’s get Unlimited brews, Illegal Pete’s burritos, shade with access to a private toilet (that alone is worth the price), and most importantly special beers not available to the public. Oh, and a commemorative pint glass you get to keep.

So head over to Upslope this Saturday and shake off the end-of-winter-blues with a pint and some excellent tunes.
