Festival Recap: Lyons Outdoors Games 2018

Ah, another successful Lyons Outdoor Games. After last year’s exciting day of festivities, we were excited to drive north for another packed day of events. Just like last year, there was a packed schedule with something for everyone. While the goat yoga of 2017 had been replaced with a different type of yoga class, we still got our fix of flying dogs, massive corn hole tournaments, mountain bike demos, trail running, and of course, the burning of the can.

We arrived Friday to set up. We met with Wenzel who supplied ample tents and shade structures around the festival grounds. We were lucky enough to have a few next to our set up for the festival go’ers to relax and take in the view.

Saturday was when all the fun started. If you are a competitor at heart, this festival is for you. With both professional and open competitions ranging from kayak slalom to dog jumping, or chugging beer before running a 5k, there are options for all types of competition.

We started the day under a big blue sky with yoga, chugged through the middle with beer tasting, and finished it off with funky tunes. Don’t worry, we also worked at the booth! We ran a successful raffle and shared a bunch of rad gear with festival participants.

Up next we have the GoPro Games. Talk about a packed schedule! Find us in the L.L. Bean Gear Town right near the Kayak Hole. We will be running raffles all weekend, and chatting about awesome gear. Stop by and say hello!
