Big Agnes Down Jackets Finally Hitting Stores

Just in time for the white stuff to start flying and temps to start dropping, the long anticipated Big Agnes down puffy jackets are finally available at retail.

Made for both men and women, and available with hoods – The Shovelhead –and without – The Hole in the Wall – (go with the hood), the jackets are not only rich with Big Agnes tech innovations and guaranteed quality, but also feature the popular DownTek water repellent down in 700 fill.

With 700 fill the jackets can be slimmer with less stuffing to achieve the same amount of warmth, and DownTek greatly expands the applicable uses and comfort range of the jacket.

After years of dialing in the company’s sleeping bags, Steamboat Springs’ Bill Gamber and crew are introducing their Vertical Thermal Channel technology in the form of wearable down. The jackets have unique vertical baffles called Insotect Flow, as well as FlowGates to keep down from moving around in its baffles. The microfiber (proprietary material) shell is lightweight, wind and water resistant and has decent durability, especially when used as a mid-layer.

Beyond these techy improvements, it has everything you will want in a puffy: cool color hits, external hand pockets, internal mesh pockets for hat/goggle stash, internal chest pocket, and a stylish fit. Keep one in your backcountry kit or just pimp it après-ski, either way you won’t regret the investment.
