Slednecks & Cornices–Like Peanut Butter & Jelly

This just in–a sledneck walks on to a cornice, triggers it, and takes a ride.

Heard that one before?

All right, I’m being an elitist, manorexic snob…but you get my drift. The dude’s wearing a helmet cam (first red flag), on a full-face helmet (potential red flag), with a “Monster Energy” sticker on it (definitely a red flag), on a splitter day (potential red flag). Kudos for this guy for sharing the footage with the Utah Avalanche Center, but man…this could easily have ended up in disaster. He knocks off an enormous cornice and it fails to trigger the slope below. (You all remember that cornice drops are one great way to test a slope…the trick is not to ride the cornice onto the slope. But he knows that now.)
