Upslope Brewing Company’s Foreign Style Stout returns beginning the week of December 15, hitting shelves in 12 ounce six-packs in Colorado, Texas, Arizona and Wyoming.
“Originally brewed in 2009, Foreign Style Stout debuted as our first anniversary beer and has been one of my favorites ever since,” said Upslope co-founder and director of brewery operations Dany Pages. “It embodies the roots of a foreign export stout, but is brewed to have a rich head and smooth roast character.”
Rich and smooth are the perfect adjectives for this beer. Yet it is not to be feared by non stout-loving aficionados. It’s got a very American drinkability despite its foreign inspiration, with a firm 6.9% abv.
Yet Upslope Foreign Style Stout easily satisfies the winter craving for darker, full-bodied brews. A well-balanced taste finishes nice and easy thanks to the smooth roasted coffee flavors and Upslope’s signature Patagonian hops. Roasted barley, chocolate malts and Irish Ale Yeast create a perfect beer for stout aficionados and for those who might typically need training wheels for such a concoction.
