The list of Marmot product-innovation firsts in apparel include the development of 2.5 layer waterproof-breathable fabrics; seam taped waterproof / breathable softshells; body-mapped zonal constructions; bi-component wicking materials; and fully baffled down parkas.
Arc’teryx spent the last four years developing the shoes. The materials and technology were developed in-house and some of the construction methods are so new the company had to make custom production machinery to manufacture the shoes.
Nick Marvik, founder of Northwest Tech (NWT3K), is a Seattle native who began skiing in the Pacific Northwest at age 4. His custom outerwear company NWT3K is now going into it’s third winter season in business.
