Here’s your chance to write for Elevation Outdoors.
In every issue of the print magazine, we include a personal essay from our stable of professional writers and athletes about a life-changing adventure out in the wild of Colorado. These stories are sometimes funny, sometimes thrilling and sometimes heartbreaking. They touch on both what Colorado’s high places mean to us and how we change and grow when we get out in them.
Our writers are not the only people who have adventures, however. We want to hear from you, our readers. Here’s how it works. Submit a 1,500 word, first-person story about the Colorado adventure that changed your life. The winner will be published in the September print issue of Elevation Outdoors and the top five submissions will be featured on ElevationOutdoors.com.
We’ve teamed up with the crew over at Something Independent who the veteran EO reader will know from the outdoor-inspired and always anticipated award program, The Wright. With their latest venture, the S|I OutPost, we get an intimate look at rural western communities and the hard-working men and women behind their resiliency and allure. S|I is based in this fine state of Colorado and knows a thing or two about the outdoor adventure lifestyle that is so vital to this place we all love.
And since we’re asking you to tell #yourCOstory, we also teamed up with the Colorado Tourism Office and their Colorado Adventure Blog. Winners will also be featured on their site!
Now, tell us: How has a Colorado adventure changed your life? Submit your story here. We can’t wait to read it.
