[Lifestyle Gear] Tablet Holder

I know this is a stretch on both the outdoorsy gear and technology front, but if you use any sort of tablet, say to plan your next trip on the ViewRanger app or the like, you’ll want to do it in comfort.

Enter the Lap Log. Yes, the name has a potentially awkward connotation, but so did ‘iPad’ and we got over that pretty easily.

This simple yet brilliant design allows you to prop your tablet comfortably on your lap at just the right viewing angle on nearly any surface – your lap, the table, floor, a messy desk, a row of external hard drives or in our case a stack of clean diapers. Any surface that has enough room and stability to hold the weight of the Lap Log and tablet. To make the stretch, it’s a great option for camping – car or otherwise.

The Lap Log is made in the USA with all eco-friendly materials from the salvaged wood for the cradle, to the 100 per cent organic cotton cover and the buckwheat hull filling. It even comes with extra filling to harden or soften the log to preference.

If you have multiple tablets in the house of various thickness, there are two wooden inserts. One for devices up to 1/2″ thick and one for thicker ones that might have a protective case over them. You can swap the inserts out as needed. Or if you have a particularly crafty household, make your own log and just buy the insert you need.

The solid colors are $39 and the print patterns are $44. Wooden inserts are $8. With Mother’s and Father’s day coming up, this is a no-brainer. Get them here: thelaplog.com
