June Pit Stops: Live Outside and Play Road Team

It’s Live Outside and Play in Colorado time! We’ve traversed the Blue Ridge Mountains and seen incredible things! We’re continuing the #vanlife out in the Rockies. Colorado—prepare for the Road Team to take your ridge scrambles, 14ers, and BLM land by storm. Also prepare for weeks without showers, far too many Scrufflepup photos, and our goofy smiles all over the state.

Don’t forget our May events comin’ in hot:

May 26th-28th: CKS Paddlefest
Buena Vista, Colo.
We’ve never been to a town with a more scenic backdrop, and to pair a benefit paddling festival with that beauty, creates an event not to be missed.  The CKS Paddlefest website describes Buena Vista best: “It is the mountain town that just won’t quit, and the summer months give it the soul that makes it a nook worth exploring.” Cheers to the opening of the summer season with a celebration that comes in all forms, shapes, and sizes—flatwater, whitewater, and land.

May 29th: River Park Cleanup
Buena Vista, Colo.
Even with the most respectful of festival goers, there’s always some casualties of trash left behind. Let’s get together and return River Park back to its natural, clean state! Join us, and co-sponsors Eddyline Brewery, at 9am at the stage on The Beach at South Main to give back to the Buena Vista community!

June is here, and so are the festivals!

June 1st: Boulder Creek Clean Up
Boulder, Colo.
Elevation Outdoors Magazine and Rocky Mountain Anglers are saving the world one creek clean up at a time.  Join the party at 5pm at Rocky Mountain Anglers, get your hands dirty, then come back to RMA for a grill out! We will provide gloves and trash bags.

June 2nd-3rd: 14th Annual Lyons Outdoors Games/Burning Can
Longmont, Colo.
Whoever put beer and adventure together should be given a pat on the back, and a beer. The 14th Annual Lyons Outdoor Games and BurningCAN Beer Festival are now one, and the sum is greater than the parts! Come for the charitable, and quirky Burning Can (they have goat yoga), and stay for the delicious beer and live music.

June 7th: Mountain Bike Trail Construction in Jefferson County
Golden, Colo.
Help make the trails you like to shred on! Join us as we use hand tools to move rocks, just like real cavemen. But seriously, we’re making black diamond mountain bike trails. It’s going to be hard, rewarding work, and afterwards we will have a beautiful trail!

June 8th-11th: GoPro Mountain Games
Vail, Colo.
There is so much to do at this festival, there isn’t enough space in a paragraph to explain it all.  Here is as much as we could fit: Music, scavenger hunt, disc golf, yoga, river clean up, dog competition, highline demos *big breath in* explore gear town, photo contest, adventure film workshop, mountain mud run, kids mountain bike ride, climbing competition. The list goes on, join us for all the fun.

June 15th-18th: Fibark- America’s Oldest and Boldest Whitewater Festival
Salida, Colo.
When a festival celebrates its 67th year, you know it’s doing something right. Come enjoy the beauty of Salida, while watching boaters take on the some of the most challenging white water this side of the Mississippi —“Whitewater hell”, “The meanest stretch of whitewater in the world”,“The longest, oldest, most prestigious and perhaps the toughest race in North America.” This should be exciting!

June 23rd-24th: Royal Gorge River Festival
Cañon City, Colo.
Say it with me: “Boats, Bands, Beer. Boats, Bands, Beer!” What’s a festival if it doesn’t have all three? Come join us for the biggest gathering of paddlers in Cañon City. There are 17 events to choose from, so beginner and experienced all have something to participate in.

June 26th: Group Ride with Kristi Mountain Sports
Del Norte, Colo.
Join Kristi Mountain Sports and Elevation Outdoors for an evening of riding with friends on trails close to town, followed by some brewskies back in Del Norte. It’s going to be wonderful, so grab your wheels and join us for a spin.

As with every event we attend, we will be repping our sponsors and their awesome gear! You can check out first hand what we use on the road to live outside and play, including gear from La SportivaCrazy CreekNational GeographicRovR ProductsSea to SummitMountain HouseLifeStraw, and Lowe Alpine.
