PRESENTS-
AVALANCHE 101 CONTINUING EDUCATION
1 or 2 day on snow seminar covering companion rescue and ski touring basics. These continuing ed classes will take place at historic Ski Cooper. Ski Cooper is Colorado’s only non profit ski area.
DAY ONE
Unlike AIARE or AAA level one classes, we are going to focus a whole day on companion rescue. We believe that knowing how to use your rescue gear is the first step to being safe in the backcountry.
The cost for the one day COMPANION RESCUE class is $110.00 ($85 with Ski Cooper pass). $120.00 includes life ticket, instruction and après at the classic 10th Mountain bar at Ski Cooper.
The companion rescue class is open to 8 students.
DAY TWO
Day 2 will cover ski/snowboard touring basics. Students will learn
tour planning
ascending and descending route selection
safe zones
group dynamics
decision making
The cost for day 2 is $125.00 ($90.00 with Ski Cooper pass). $125.00 includes lift ticket, instruction, lunch and Chicago Ridge snow cat vertical assistance.
Day 2 is open to 10 students.
