1. 50K of immaculately groomed trails
CB Nordic grooms 50 kilometers of trails that leave from multiple trail heads all around town. Trails are open to skiers, snowshoers, and some to fat bikes.
2. Stunning Scenery
The scenery from the trails is second to none. With names like the Magic Meadows and Paradise Divide how could you go wrong? The trail system is nestled in the beautiful Elk Mountains.
3. The Earliest Skiing
With two reliable early season ski venues, Crested Butte Nordic always provides early season skiing. Ruthie’s Run, an engineered trail right next to the Nordic Center in town, is often groomed by mid November. Lily Lake, located on Kebler pass 6 miles west of town, typically receives the earliest and most snowfall in the state of Colorado (600 inches on average).
4. Colorado’s Biggest Cross Country Ski Race
The Alley Loop, Colorado’s biggest nordic ski race, is not your typical American Birkebeiner Qualifier. The course starts, finishes, and passes through the heart of downtown Crested Butte winding around on snow covered streets, narrow alleys, and one lane bridges. At any given time, you may be cheered on by an alley party, find yourself surrounded by oompa loompas, or skiing past a train of people connected by a crazy costume. The Alley Loop is for serious racers and for the not-so-serious.
5. Park your car for the weekend
Once you get to town, there is no need to drive your car. All of the trainloads, shops, and restaurants are within walking distance.
